What’s the latest? If you missed it, during the U.S. Senate Finance Committee hearing yesterday, it was crystal clear that RFK Jr. is grossly unqualified—he doesn’t really understand what the job entails or what he would be doing as Secretary of HHS—and is a dangerous pick to be put in charge of safeguarding our nation’s health.

In addition, Senators underscored his extensive record of profiting off of parents’ natural worries about the health of their children by advising them not to vaccinate them, as well as espousing other fringe conspiracy theories. This is too much of a risk for our country and there is no reason to believe that he has reversed the dangerous views he has promoted for over 25 years.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services could not be a more important role in ensuring our communities have access to quality health care. From managing Medicaid and Medicare and overseeing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH), to preparing for and responding to public health emergencies (i.e. a pandemic), it’s a serious job.

Yet RFK Jr. doesn’t have the experience, background, or qualifications to steward this immense responsibility. Not only does he have a well-documented history of spreading dangerous health disinformation and asserting conspiracy theories as facts, but he also doesn’t have a medical or science degree or any executive experience. He’s out of step with reality, ignoring overwhelming scientific evidence and pedalling false information to the masses without understanding the dangerous ramifications of his misinformed and unresearched ideas. 

Simply put RFK Jr. is a danger to our children, our country’s health system, and the well-being of all Americans.
