Send a Note to NY Gov. Hochul: Child Care is Important for NY Families!
Hey New York parents! Right now, NY legislators and the Governor are looking at their budget priorities for this year. We want to make sure that Gov. Hochul understands that investing in child care is ESSENTIAL to ensure families can stay in New York, our children thrive emotionally and academically, our child care workers are paid family-sustaining wages, and businesses and communities across New York state can thrive.
How can you help? By coloring! Help Gov. Hochul understand that New York families need child care. We’ve made it super easy for you to take action:
STEP 1: Download and print any of our coloring sheets below:
STEP 2: Color the sheets (your kids can help, or you can do it alone, coloring is relaxing!)
Write a note to Governor Hochul letting her know how child care is important!
Tell Gov. Hochul you hope she supports and acts on child care by investing in the child care workforce, supporting more funding for child care for children with special needs and more! You can also use this toolkit created by the Empire State Campaign for Child Care for language. But the most important thing? To write a note from your heart, and tell her why child care is essential to you raising your kids in the Empire state.
STEP 3: Send it to the Governor by mail:
Mail it to the Governor at the address below:
The Honorable Kathy Hochul
Governor of New York State
NYS State Capitol Building
Albany, NY 12224
BONUS: Share a pic of your note on social media so we can amplify it!
Make sure to tag @govkathyhochul so she can see it! And tag @momsrising so we can amplify it! Use hashtag #NYSuniversalchildcare in your post.
Thank you for taking action for NY families! If you want to share your child care story, you can do so here.
