Jill Garvey has worked with the Center for New Community, a racial justice organization, since 2007 and currently serves as the Executive Director. From 2008 to 2012 she served as the managing editor for the CNC-affiliated blog, Imagine2050.net ands is its current Publisher. During that time her writing and commentary have been featured in several media outlets including The Progressive Magazine, Alternet.org, Huffington Post, and The Maddow Blog. Jill worked for the Center as a Field Organizer, Director of Communications and Associate Director before assuming the Executive Director role.

The strength of motherhood has struck me whenever I’ve encountered the stories of young people being threatened with deportation to countries they no longer know - their mothers and the mothers in their communities are among the most powerful advocates in keeping families together.
