Kenwyn Derby is a Senior Research Associate at WestEd, a nonprofit agency that provides research and services to support healthy human development and improve education systems. She partners with educators, policymakers, and community members at local and state levels to generate and apply evidence in order to improve family engagement and student outcomes, with a focus on equitable access, supporting the whole child, and improving K-12 school climate and culture. Kenwyn is also a part-time practicing clinical social worker in a community-based mental health agency. She holds degrees in Political Science, Organizational Psychology, and Social Work. Her personal life include being a stepmom to three young people and a picker-upper of fur from three dogs. She is a passionate advocate of creating systems and providing resources to ensure the safety and well-being of women and children, both inside and outside the home.
