Timothy Lange writes under the moniker "Meteor Blades". He is a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, a former member of the American Indian Movement and a life-long activist in civil rights, reproductive rights, antiwar and anti-rightwing politics. After a career in both alternative and mainstream journalism, ending with a dozen years at the Los Angeles Times, he is now a senior policy writer at the liberal political blog Daily Kos and executive editor of Native American Netroots, a forum for and a repository of American Indian thought. He now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
