This is absolutely insane!
U.S. Senate Republican leadership announced late yesterday that they’ll be voting on a Motion to Proceed to take health care away from millions of people TODAY—and we don’t actually know what will be in the bill that they’re voting on!
Is this any way to deal with our nation’s health care? No!

Why aren’t there more specifics? Well, the U.S. Senate Republican leaders aren’t giving details about what their plans are in an intentional plan to cause chaos and confusion. Even a former Republican U.S Senator, David Durenberger (R-MN), urged fellow Republicans yesterday to vote “no,” saying:
“...Senators, you are being asked to approve a Motion to Proceed to a vote:
- Without knowing what will be in the bill you would vote on.
- Without knowing what the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office will say about the impact of major amendments and the final bill on coverage and premiums.
- With full knowledge that the Senate parliamentarian, who rules on what can and can't be allowed in a budget bill, has said that the Senate must remove provisions intended to prevent an insurance market death spiral of sicker patients driving up costs.
- Without knowing the details of the secret state Medicaid waivers the Trump administration insists will make the bill work.
- Without knowing how your own state budget will be impacted.
- Without knowing how you will defend the provisions you will only learn about later, including the payoffs and other things that will be sneaked into the bill at the last minute.
- Without even knowing which bill you are being asked to vote on, what the defining amendments will be and how much time you will have when being pressed for a final vote you’ll be stuck with. Forever.”

U.S. Senate Republicans are hoping they can wear us down with their sustained and increasingly desperate attempts to dismantle and sabotage our nation’s cherished health care programs in order to carry out their campaign promises of repealing Obamacare and giving tax breaks to corporations and the very wealthy. But what they don’t know, is that parents have superpowers. With late-night feedings, all-night fevers, the all-too-familiar “Mom!” early morning wake-up call—parents are experts at overcoming exhaustion and we will not back down!
However things proceed this week, we know that ALL of the Republican proposals to repeal the Affordable Care Act and gut Medicaid would result in more than 20 million more Americans losing health insurance and all of us losing the consumer protections put into place by Obamacare.
