Since 1979, October 16 has been marked as World Food Day. It's a day to spread awareness and draw national attention to hunger, malnutrition and poverty, as well as draw attention to programs that work in our nation.
This year World Food Day falls on a Friday and we want to commemorate it with a #FoodFri tweetchat!
Join MomsRising, @MomsRising, and 1,000 Days, @ThousandDays, on Friday, October 16, 2015 to discuss the critical importance of putting people at the center of the world’s food and health policies. This is particularly important for the health and well‐being of our next general, as a growing body of evidence shows that good nutrition, particularly in the 1,000 days between a woman’s pregnancy and her child’s second birthday, sets the foundation for lifelong health, giving children the opportunity to grow, learn and thrive.
We look forward to chatting with you and hope you will spread the word by clicking below.
Tweet: This #WorldFoodDay I'm joining @MomsRising + @ThousandDays at the #FoodFri chat! Join me on 10/16 @ 1pmEST. Details: http://ctt.ec/Wm9EU+
