Statement “Day after day and year after year, Latina women are shortchanged on their paychecks because of one of the widest, most punitive wage gaps in the country, which persists across occupations and levels of education. This appalling wage discrimination is especially damaging for Latina moms, who are paid just 47 cents on the dollar paid to white dads. Overall, Latina women are paid just 54 cents compared to a dollar paid to white men. That’s deeply unjust and unjustifiable, and Latina families and communities cannot wait any longer for solutions. 

Statement “Twenty-three months. That’s how long Native American women must work, on average, to be paid what white men are paid in one year – because in the United States today, Native women are paid just 51 cents for every dollar paid to white men. That’s appalling and driven by structural racism and sexism that are absolutely unacceptable. 

Statement “The brutal attack on patrons and staff at Club Q in Colorado Springs Saturday night is yet another heartbreaking mass shooting tragedy, this one leaving at least five people dead, some 25 others injured, and many more traumatized. That Club Q was preparing to host Transgender Day of Remembrance events this morning makes this violence even more painful. Our hearts are broken by this violence, and by the anti-LGBTQ+ and other hate that is escalating across our country. 

Statement “Ending DACA (the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program) would be devastating, not just for the 600,000+ people enrolled in the program but for hundreds of thousands of their children and families, as well as for America's workforce, communities, and our economy. Yet courts may be poised to do just that. That’s why it is so urgent that Congress act before the end of the year to create permanent protections for the hundreds of thousands of people who were brought to this country as children, making it the only place they have ever called home.
