#FoodFri is Making a Difference, Please Log in and Join, Fridays at 1PM EDT
MomsRising continues to invest in developing a social media community that can influence national conversation and be activated and organized around school food and food marketing to children. In less than six months #FoodFri tweetchats grew to regularly reach millions, trending nationally almost weekly. MomsRising’s #FoodFri continues to be a favorite weekly social media destination for thousands. A recent tweet chat with superstar chef Jamie Oliver and Grammy winning singer/songwriter and education activist John Legend reached more than 7 million people and exposed more than 150 million people to the #FoodFri hashtag!
Twitter has indisputably grown into a space that leads the country’s conversations, where policymakers, activists and parents interface in real time on topical news stories. The potential to identify diverse allies and activists and move them up the ladder of engagement grows each week
#FoodFri is a weekly “tweetchat” MomsRising hosts on Twitter every Friday at 1pm EDT. MomsRising conducts online, public interviews from our Twitter account, @MomsRising, providing a wildly popular platform for our food policy partners and the larger food justice community. Our tweetchats have addressed diverse topics in order to bring new allies to the issues of healthy food in schools, food marketing to children and other related issues as they arise.
