#CHIPworks - Meet Jan in Michigan
From the time my daughter Suzi was young, we knew she was going to need extra help. She was diagnosed in second grade with ADHD, and we proceeded to try a medical solution for her attention problems. We struggled to make sure she received special educational support at school, and at home she needed behavior modification to successfully take care of her needs.
As she got older, she was diagnosed as being bipolar and required a different approach to control her mood swings and irritability. Without having access to quality health care, we would have been lost. Thanks to MIChild coverage, with a premium of only $10 a month, we were able to afford the help she so desperately needed. She is now a high school graduate with the goal of attending community college to become a cosmetology student, and we are so grateful that we have been able to get the help necessary to get her to this state.
