Marcella Termini, a MomsRising supporter in NH, shares a quick timeline of how Medicaid became important to her family. In the face of repeated attempts by some in Congress to cut Medicaid, MomsRising will continue to work to protect this life-saving, transformational program that provides critical support for families like Marcella's across the country.

2008-2011: Our new family of four (Mom, Dad, twin boys) have employer sponsored insurance that covers the basics needed for our lives. Two years later and several missed milestones for the boys we were looking at dual diagnoses of Autism. The therapies needed and recommended for the twins were not covered by our private insurance and we didn’t have any idea that there was an option for Medicaid or supplemental insurance for our twins.
2020: Our full family of five (Mom, Dad, twin boys, daughter) has not only employer sponsored insurance for everyone, but our twins have had access to Medicaid for Children with disabilities. The ability to access this additional insurance for the boys has been made easier with the introduction of the ACA. Without this insurance our sons would not be thriving and progressing the way they are today because we could have never afforded to pay out of pocket for the therapists and therapies we have had access to.
