Great tips from Cristina, aka “TriathlonMami,” a mother of two rambunctious boys in Miami, Florida.
A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Make a decision to get going, and then take daily action. Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Write a list of why you are starting and keep it handy. This will be your pep talk as your New Year’s enthusiasm becomes buried in everyday life.
- Spend money. Sign up for a race, a coach, or a gym. This money taken from the family budget is an INVESTMENT in your health. It is your responsibility to make it a successful one.
- Grab a friend. Few things make you as committed as someone counting on you to show up.
- Do it for a bigger cause. Turn your fitness journey into a fundraiser or other way of contributing to a cause.
- Get Inspired. You CAN do this, just read about all the other moms who made it happen in their <DEL>life</DEL> lives. If they can do it, you can do it, too.
- Know You Will Stumble. But also know you can get back up and start over.
