Host a Moms Meetup!
Grab your friends, kids, and pets for the next presidential debate!
October 8, 2015
As the youngest in my family, I often had to wait my turn. Waiting was no fun, but when my turn came, I was sure to make a splash.
After two Republican Presidential debates, the Democratic candidates will finally have a chance to make a splash next Tuesday, October 13th at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Will the wait be worth it? Let’s see!
Drum roll please…. It’s time to grab your popcorn, gather some friends and family, and maybe even some juice boxes and/or adult beverages to watch the debate! It’s time to see what the Democratic candidates for President have to say about the core issues facing families and our nation.
So why should YOU watch the debates?
Just like we have with the Republican candidates in the first two debates, it is critical that we show the field of Democratic candidates that we’re paying attention to what they are - and are not - talking about while debating. When you register your debate watching party using our Moms Meetup tool, we’ll let the candidates know that MomsRising members across the country are gathering to watch and reporting back what they say during the debates to their friends, family, neighbors, social media circles and more.
Secondly, watching the debates is fun! This will be the first chance for voters, like you, to see where the Democratic candidates for President stand on the issues that matter to them LIVE and unscripted. Sure, it’s fun to read what people say about the debates on Twitter or Facebook, but it’s even more fun to watch the debates in person with real life people. :)
The Moms Meetup platform is a tool that we created for your convenience to help you organize your family and friends - and BONUS - allows you to invite other MomsRising moms in your area if you want to. This means you could go a long way in getting folks informed and make an impact.
Once you sign up, we’ll send you everything you need. Your gathering can be large or small or anything in between. The most important thing is that we get folks paying attention by seeing where the candidates stand on real issues that matter to families. That together we start to shift the candidates conversations to what really matters to moms, dads, and working families each day.
You pick the place to watch the debate—in your home, or at a Moms Night Out someplace, with kids, without kids, with a fox in a box, on a boat with a goat, or whatever is easiest for you!
