Statement “As mothers, we stand with Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin's mom, and with all the moms who've lost their children to gun violence. We stand for advancing gun safety policies and for eliminating dangerous gun laws, like the "stand your ground" law in Florida that contributed to Trayvon Martin's untimely death at age seventeen.

Statement “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has not had a director in six years. This is outrageous but can be rectified if the Senate moves quickly to confirm B. Todd Jones to this position.
“As the bureau charged with enforcing federal laws regarding firearms, the ATF plays a crucial role in keeping our families and children safe. Without the leadership and focus of an official director, the bureau is less capable of carrying out its mandate to prevent violent crime. That leadership is needed now, more than ever.

Statement “June 10 will mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s signing of the Equal Pay Act. That law was intended to ensure that women would get paid the same amount as men for the same job. Fifty years ago, most mothers didn’t work outside the home for pay. Today, a new poll shows that in two out of five households with children under the age of 18, moms are the primary breadwinners. And child care costs are skyrocketing.
